Joseph Mansour - Principal
During his career Mr. Mansour has owned, developed and operated several different types of income-producing real estate. In addition to owning and operating real estate in California, Missouri and Texas, Mr. Mansour has practiced law in California and Texas, with a practice focused on real estate and bankruptcy. Mr. Mansour graduated from Washington University School of Law, and shortly thereafter began a successful legal career in San Francisco prior to forming Accord.
Darla J. Nelson, Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
After joining Accord in 1997, Ms. Nelson has worked in every aspect of the company’s business, including development, property management and human resources. She currently administers all human resources programs and exercises control over the asset management of all related company properties. Ms. Nelson is responsible for supervising all Accord and related company personnel as well as accounting services to each business unit. Prior to joining Accord, Ms. Nelson earned a BBA from Lamar University and an MS from the University of Houston’s Department of Public Health, and her work experience includes several years of executive level operations and development.
Dianna L. Overbeck, VP Texas
Ms. Overbeck has been part of Accord since its formation in 1990. She has focused on maintaining Accord's competitve advantage by monitoring and updating its property management systems and processes. As Vice President managing the Texas properties, Ms. Overbeck has been able to implement creative and focused management plans that have adapted to the wide variety of circumstances and economic conditions that characterize the Texas real estate market.
Melissa A. Wheeler, VP Oklahoma
Ms. Wheeler has been active in real estate management throughout her career, and has led Accord's efforts to develop and Oklahoma portfoliio of multifamily and corporate properties. Ms. Wheeler won the NOVA award for manager of the year, and is a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Karl L. Sternbaum – In Memoriam
Mr. Sternbaum, Principal and founding member of Accord, was involved in real estate and construction management during his entire professional career. Mr. Sternbaum managed over $750 million in commercial real estate projects and supervised staffs of 750+ persons. Mr. Sternbaum graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts degree and, shortly thereafter, began his real estate career as an executive with Farb Companies in Houston, Texas. Mr. Sternbaum subsequently formed his own real estate development and management company, KSI, in Houston prior to forming Accord with Mr. Mansour.
Karl remained an active principal in Accord until his death in 2006. Karl’s insight, work ethic and dedication have left a lasting imprint on Accord’s company culture, and his presence will remain with Accord for the duration of Accord’s business life.
